Laguna Village: Sublim Beach Club opens its doors
After the devastating fire hit Laguna Village back in August 2020, the future of this beautiful area was left hanging, particularly after numerous setbacks during the rebuilding project. With multiple dates being set and missed, its return has been hotly anticipated by both residents and tourists alike.
Finally, after 4 years, Laguna Village has now officially been resurrected, bringing with it a whole host of exciting new beach clubs, restaurants, shops and more. One of the first venues to open its doors is Sublim, an exclusive new beach club that looks set to transform the area into a luxury haven. With a beautiful pool, a selection of sumptuous day beds and incredible food and drinks on offer, visitors can look forward to a day of real luxury beside the beach.
Estepona Park Shopping Centre
Estepona Park, the newest shopping centre on the Costa del Sol, has opened its doors, offering a range of international brands and creating around 100 jobs for locals. Developed by Batex & Duplex with an investment of 15 million euros, Estepona Park fills a crucial need for modern commercial spaces in the area. Its strategic location in Estepona reflects the company’s commitment to meeting the evolving needs of the community while enhancing the town’s infrastructure and economic growth.
With a gross leasable area of 5,288 square meters, Estepona Park boasts state-of-the-art facilities including underground parking and a central plaza. The first phase features stores like Kiwoko, Sprinter, Primaprix, and Veritas, offering a diverse range of products and services. The second phase, scheduled for July 2024, will introduce additional amenities such as Flipa Jump playground, Alta Fit gym, and KFC restaurant, enriching the park’s offerings and catering to diverse preferences.
Updates in El Paraiso
The area is undergoing some exciting new changes and openings this Spring/Summer, with the arrival of several new establishments. The first of which is Veritas, a new organic supermarket stocking over 5000 certified organic products for those looking to embrace a healthier lifestyle. Veritas offers a wide selection of fresh produce, organic pantry staples, gluten-free options, and environmentally friendly household products, making it a one-stop shop for conscious consumers.
Cocinas Universal has also moved into the new retail park alongside Veritas and provides a fantastic array of options for homeowners looking for high-quality new kitchens, run by a local family.
Popular Italian restaurant La Grappa has also recently expanded its premises and undergone a fantastic new refurbishment, but still offers the same authentic Italian dishes and value for money prices.
The Flag Wellness Hotel Opens in Estepona
The renowned German family-owned brand, The Flag, has made its debut on the Costa del Sol with a 78-room hotel that introduces a comprehensive holistic wellness program.
Located close to Playa del Saladillo, The Flag Costa del Sol is the company’s first venture in Spain. The new hotel, which also features serviced apartments, offers three distinct wellness programs: Stay Pure for detoxification, Stay Balanced for weight management, and Stay Strong for enhancing physical fitness. With these programs, The Flag aims to establish a sanctuary for wellness enthusiasts seeking relaxation and achieving health goals. Adding to its offerings, the hotel features a restaurant that serves locally sourced dishes, embodying a philosophy of ‘from nature to the plate’. The hotel’s food and beverage venues are open to the public too, so why not pop in and sample them for yourself!
Estepona Food Market
Originally built in 1949, the historic Mercado de Abastos food market on Calle Villa in Estepona has been revitalised as a vibrant gastronomic and social hub in the heart of the town.
Following a two-year closure, Nation Food has taken the reins of the 950-square-meter space, aiming to blend the rich flavours of local cuisine with exciting international tastes.
The market will welcome guests from noon until midnight, offering seating for up to 140 diners indoors and an additional 140 on the terrace. With an estimated average cost of around 35 euros per person, inclusive of drinks, visitors can indulge in a diverse culinary experience.
